Six of our wrestlers competed in their first official tournament today at the Saline Novice/Open Tournament.
Fun was had by all and the wrestlers.

All of the kids brought their best effort to the mats and fought hard each and every time with 4 of them placing in the
top 5 of their brackets:

Steven- 3rd place

Angelina- 5th place

Austin- 5th place

Leo- 4th place

See everyone Tuesday at practice (Christ the King)

The Jr Wolverine Wrestling  club has had its share of outstanding athletes over the years. We often focus on the wrestling accomplishments and why not we are a wrestling organization.  From time to time we reach many different wrestlers with many different abilities.  Some wrestlers only hang with us for a season or two.

It is important to give recognition to some of our special honories.  Outstanding Student Athletes and those who have and serve in the Military.  One such former Jr Wolverine is Thomas White-Cadet West Point.

Thomas wrestled with us for a couple of years up until he went to high School at Gabriel Richard HS in Ann Arbor. He will graduate Sprint of 2014 and hope to be deployed in infantry as 2nd Lietuenant.

Congratulations Thomas-  it was great to see this past week at  OHAC Pool.  What a fine young man you have turned out be. Mom and Dad must be proud.  We at the Jr Wolverine's are!

Detroit Catholic Central's 2X All Stater Nick Mason was the guest clinician  @ WWC. Thank you Nick for a great session. Nick was once a Jr. Wolverine himself. "These young gus are looking great.  Keep up the good work!  If you hang with the Jr. Wolverine WC, you can hang with anyone!  "  I always liked it when we had guest coaches come in- it was a nice change of pace.  I found those sessions very helpful in my develpoment as a young wrestler."

We have an unusally large number of of young light weights.  If you have  a little guy, bring him by!  If you can find a club with one  kid the same sizethat is good.  If you can find three Wow!  To have a small bull pen  is a bonus.  These kids are going to be tough  someday.

______________________________________________________________________________________________

We now have one week under our belts.  This young group is looking great and determined.  Keep up the great work.
This group has about 35 kids on the roster.
We will take up to 50 kids- space is limited.   Wade we love your focus...
